ABOUT ME
ACTOR
Trained at Acting Coach Scotland in Glasgow, where he took a Professional Diploma in Stage & Screen Acting and with a Master in Acting took at Central de Cine in Madrid, Armando Di Lillo begins his career at age nine, when he starred in a kid adaptation of Filumena Marturano by dramatist Eduardo De Filippo.
Armando wrote his first film script at the age of eleven: Un Salto nel Passato. This short film, which sees Armando also as lead actor, was screened at the 2003 Giffoni Festival in Italy, hosted by the acclaimed Italian actor Silvio Muccino.
In 2014, he worked on the set of the movie Mia Madre by famous Italian director Nanni Moretti. In the same year, he participated in the Italian edition of the travelling theater-dance performance Human Loops directed by Spanish choreographer Meritxell Campos Olivé.
He has appeared at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the play Walls and Bridges alongside an international cast.
WRITER
With his first novel Quello che non sai (The things you don't know), he ranked second to the International Literature Competition La Pulce Letteraria (Potenza, Italy).
The following year, he published his second novel La Tua Colpa (Your Fault) for Eracle Edizioni, followed by La Gabbia (The Cage) for Bookabook (2019, Milan) and Il Livore for Augh! Edizioni (2022, Viterbo).
He is also author of the acting introductive handbook
La Tattica Vincente (The winning tactic).
An introductive handbook about Practical Aesthetics, a new acting techinque that he is bringing to Italy for the very first time.
DIRECTOR AND SCREENWRITER
He starts directing his own novel's booktrailers, working with actresses like Francesca Nunzi and Valeria Zazzaretta.
He writes and directs the acclaimed short movies A woman's Story (2018), Silenzi (2019), My King (2020) and Sweat of August (2022).
Short movies that have been awarded of selections and prizes like Best First Time Filmmaker (Una Donna), Best Young Actress (Giorgia Bognanni for Silenzi), Best Editing (Sandra, 2021) Best Movie (Silenzi) and many others.
He has been directed almost 15 short movies including his own works and other screenwriters'.
ACTING COACH
In 2016, Armando founded the Acting Center School in Rome and later, TAG-The Acting Group, a studio academy focused on Acting for Camera in collaboration with the Italian Casting Director Marta Gervasutti.
In 2020, Armando founded the Armando Di Lillo Acting Studio, a new professional acting studio dedicated to Practical Aesthetics technique.
He is the only Italian coach to be trained in Practical Aesthetics and the first one who has translated all the foundamentals of the technique in Italian. He is the owner of the registered trademark Pr.Ae.It - Practical Aesthetics in Italia®.
He has teached at BMA - Brancaccio Musical Academy in Roma and he teaches regularly in several acting academies and schools in Italy and in Scotland, such as CTC - Casa del Teatro e del Cinema directed by Claudio Insegno, l'ITE - Istituto Teatrale Europeo founded by Mariagiovanna Rosati Hansen, Seven Arts Theatre Studio
directed by Marco Verna and ACS - Acting Coach Scotland in Glasgow.
CASTING ASSISTANT AND LOGGER
From 2013, he starts to work as Logger for several TV production companies like Stand By Me, Pesci Combattenti
and Garbo Produzioni.
He worked as casting assistant between 2017 and 2019 with Italian Casting Director Marta Gervasutti for several national and international online commercials and TV series.
One of them is Come quando fuori piove (2018) starring and created by Italian famous actress Virginia Raffaele.
